I did a lot of research on the web reading reviews and evaluating features on LCD, LED and plasma sets. Some of my friends have Panasonic plasmas so I was already aware of the brilliant colors and deeper blacks. After reading many reviews on this set, I decided it was the one to order based on price, features and performance. The only thing I was worried about was this “buzzing” issue. Anyway, I took the chance and boy, am I glad I did! I am a 60 year old woman with little technical expertise (although I’m learning), so had it professionally installed with an Evo wall system to hide all the cables (love this system also!). The television itself has a sleek, elegant design and, as everyone seems to agree, a fabulous picture! I lost the remote before the set was installed (I’ve ordered another) so am unable to adjust the picture yet, but the picture is amazing just using the “plug and play”. I’ve been using the set for about two weeks–many hours every day and guess what?? NO BUZZING!!! AND NO BURN IN!! I do have the sound going through a Bose Lifestyle 20 system, but when I mute or turn the sound all the way down, I still cannot hear any buzz. I also have an LG wireless Blu Ray player hooked up and the picture is superb. What else? I adore the manual on/off illuminated large “button” on the bottom of the set–too cool!!! Makes it look kind of “space age”–ok, silly I know, but I still love it!

This television exceeds my expectations in every regard except one. Audio. When you purchase one of these beautiful plasma televisions, factor in the cost of a sound bar or some sound system. The speakers built into the rear of the television do not do justice to the wonderful video experience. Your pleasure of watching a movie will be diminished by using the built in speakers. Otherwise, this is one fine television.

This plasma has a loud humming noise. I bought my on Amazon through a 3rd party vendor. I called Samsung to report it and they sent out a local authorized repair service center to come to my house and replaced the entire panel but it is the same thing. I would not have purchased it if I have known it makes such loud noise like this. Too much glare, not good for watching TV during the day in a room with windows.

I’ve owned the 58″ Plasma Samsung PN58B560 for about a month now. I’ve read several reviews about an inherit buzz with this television and I’m hear to confirm the rumor that there is a natural buzz from the set.
It stood out to me so much that we called a repair man. He thought it might be the power supply, but it was not. We did several tests, and determined it was the X and Y power supply that create the picture. He also told me that Samsung builds these parts for 80% of Plasma televisions including Panisonic and others. But based on the build of the unit – I went to a store and put my ear to the televisions – you cannot hear it as well in different brands, but I definately could hear it in the Samsung. The Repairman told me that my wife and I are in the one percentile that can hear this buzz as he claimed he couldn’t really hear it unless he was right next to it. This may have some truth to it as some people don’t seem to complain bout the problem.
Now we have to make the decision of getting a much more expensive and smaller LED television, which has no buzz, or keeping this one and just try to ignore it or drown it out with volume control.
Either way I should say that if you are going to buy this TV and you are sensitive to buzz sounds, like bad Florescent lights, fans, etc then this TV might not be the one for you. Notice I’ve said nothing bout the picture quality, design or aesthetic feel of the TV as I think that part of it is awesome; but the BUZZ will not go away just because you use an external speaker system. It is always there and get louder or quieter depending on the brightness of the screen, shape of the room, wall or carpeting.
The end; for now.
